Grand Families Program

Our Grand Families Program is here to help families obtain and maintain stability and keep them from the throes of poverty.  The barriers that families face to maintain stability is not an easy hill to climb by ones self.  We have created a community that is here to help families from rolling back down the hill.  The way our program works is to uplift families and catalyze change by providing financial support with life skills training, and access to a mentor or a life coach. 

Financial aid assistance is provided only when funds are available, and all requirements are met.  All financial payments are made directly on behalf of the member.  No funds are provided directly to the members.

 Assistance provided:

• Emergency rental or mortgage assistance
• Rental application fees
• Rental deposit assistance
• Child care applications fees
• Child care parent fee assistance
• Utility payment assistance

 Financial Aid Assistance Requirements:

There is a limit of 3 financial aid assistance requests per 12-month period and we will only provide 1 support within a category at a time.  For example, we will pay for your application fees but will not pay for your deposit or your monthly rent at the same time.

The possible combination of assistance are:

• Up to 2 rental applications (on the same request)
• 1 rental deposit assistance payment 
• 1 in rental/mortgage assistance payment (Requests cannot be within the first three months of a lease agreement.)
• 1 child care application/registration fee per child ages 0-12 years of age
• 1 child care parent fee payment (can include up to 3 weeks, depending on funding)
• Up to 2 utility payment assistance for different services 

 Life Skills Training:

• The first financial request from a family requires a member to attend our in-person or online personal budget skills training and to complete a monthly budget.
• Each subsequent request for financial assistance in a 12-month period requires a member to complete an additional life skills training class.

Income Requirements:

All household income levels are accepted unless the current funding source has specific requirements.

Demonstrated need:

• Late notice  or notice to vacate 
• Eviction notice
• Statement of need for rental application fees, with explanation of current living situation.

Verifiable:

• Proof of income
• Proof of employment or offer of employment
